Since 2020, storyboard has been producing XPLR: MEDIA Magazine, which is published annually at the Medientage München media conference. The print magazine showcases the diversity and appeal of Bavaria as a media location through innovative projects and opinion-leading personalities.

Contents of the magazine

Each issue presents innovative cases from the Bavarian media industry that revolve around a specific focus topic. This could be, for example, the question of how media will be financed in the future, or how artificial intelligence is changing the media industry. For the “Hero Stories,” storyboard produces in-depth interviews, portraits, and reports, including photo shoots.

These detailed articles are supplemented by shorter Q&As, infographics, and other snackable content formats in a modern layout. Selected stories from each print issue are also published in XPLR: MEDIA in Bavaria's digital magazine.

Implementation

To portray the visionary minds and innovative companies that shape Bavaria's media landscape, storyboard organizes customized photo shoots for each magazine issue. Photographers accompany the interview appointments directly on site and capture the personalities of the protagonists with their individual style. The result is images that are sometimes edgy and experimental, sometimes classic and modern, but always reflect the authentic character of the people and companies portrayed.
